Five Things Students Should Know
Stepping Into Fourth Grade


1. Mastery of addition and subtraction facts.

2. Know multiplication tables 0 to 12.

3. Have basic knowledge geographical knowledge of New York State.

4. Be able to find words in a dictionary.

5. Be able to read and follow simple written directions.
Example: playing a game, 
following a recipe, performing an experiment

You can practice addition, subtraction and multiplication facts with your child by creating flash cards on index cards. Just spend about five to ten minutes working on these items each day.
